Find Great Stories In America's Historic Newspapers

The NEH's "Chronicling America" project has over 10 million pages from newspapers from 1836 to 1922. StoryTrail, an independent tool, lets you search those pages and pull together trends and patterns, and display them using Big Data techniques.

After you easily find hundreds or thousands of relevant articles, you can generate visualizations of them, and publish your presentations. StoryTrail.org is free, works on desktops down to smartphones, and is a great tool for teachers, students, and history buffs.
